This painting was inspired by the Rio Grande Gorge approximately 10 miles northwest of Taos, New Mexico. The canyon is beautiful on its own and also has a stunning bridge which, at approximately 650 feet high, is the 5th highest bridge in the United States and the 2nd highest bridge on the U.S. Highway System.
Taos is a beautiful town in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in Northern New Mexico. Taos has a rich art culture, world-class skiing and Taos Pueblo (built between 1000 and 1450 A.D) which is a World Heritage Site.
